Students From Other Districts

STEP 1: INTER-DISTRICT TRANSFER

If you live in the boundaries of a different school district, you will need to complete the Inter-district transfer application process outlined here.

STEP 2: WITHDRAWING FROM YOUR CURRENT SCHOOL AND DISTRICT

AFTER you have been officially released from your current district AND have been accepted into SRVUSD by the Student Services Department, then you will need to officially withdraw from your current school.

Contact the registrar at your current school and complete the withdrawal process. You may be required to return books and pay outstanding fees before they will process your withdrawal. If school is in session you will get withdraw grades.

STEP 3: THE REGISTRAR

Call Venture School at (925) 479-1200 to make a registration appointment. Bring the following items to your registration appointment with the Venture Registrar:

  • A copy of your approved Inter-District Transfer

  • A copy of your immunization record

  • A copy of your transcript (high school students only)

  • Behavior Report

  • Attendance Report

  • Withdrawal grades (if school is in session)

Note: Changes in placement or instructional methods require and IEP team meeting. If your student is eligible for special education, you should consult with your student's case manager. Special education students may not participate in independent study unless it is specified as an instructional method in their IEP. Your case manager may invite the Venture Principal to the meeting so the IEP team can make an informed determination about independent study and your child.

STEP 4: TEACHER MEETING

Once all registration materials have been received at Venture, and the student has been withdrawn from his/her resident school, Venture will assign a teacher. The teacher will call you to set up your first appointment. Both the parent and student should come to the first meeting.
